Space Products: Panels
Once Spectrolab has fabricated a sufficient quantity of CICs necessary to meet End of Life power for a given program, they are assembled into circuits (the quantity of cells in each series circuit determined by the voltage requirement of the spacecraft at End of Life) and then bonded to customer-furnished panel substrates, typically constructed with insulated carbon graphite material on an aluminum core. Spectrolab connects wiring to the circuits and routes the wiring to panel connectors from which the completed solar array will draw its power.
The solar panels are inspected and both thermally and electrically tested to ensure flawless performance in space.
